CHRISTIAN, GAY, AND FAMILY TIES TO HAMAS

John Calvin is a gay Christian whose grandfather was a founding member of Hamas. When we first met Calvin in 2015, he was facing deportation home to the West Bank, a move he said would be 'certain death.' We caught up with him a year later, living freely in New York,  having been granted deferred removal under the UN Convention against Torture. Our original story was used in the case.
